Hadronic parity violation (ended after first funding period)

N. Kaiser (TUM) / S.-.L. Zhu (PKU)

Summary

Nuclear parity violation provides an almost unique way to study the strangeness-conserving hadronic weak interactions. In this project, we will calculate the long-range parity-violating 2 pionexchange potential to higher orders and analyze parity-violating few-nucleon observables in a systematic way using the framework of chiral effective field theory. We also plan to investigate the role of the Δ(1232) isobar.
